All that glitters is green... and blue.

Ever since I received this beautiful green gemstone Zara necklace as a gift from my friends (thank you!) I have been wanting to do an outfit post with it.

I know that this necklace is rather versatile and can be worn with many colours and tones but I had it in my mind that I had to be green that I wore this beautiful necklace with.

Though I have to say that it is a little bit hard to find the right outfit when green isn't so in season. Luckily for me ASOS (yet again hehe) have this gorgeous bold printed tulip dress. A light bulb went off in my head as soon as I saw it. woo hooo!

The four things I love most about this dress are

1. Tulip shape, and midi sleeves. Peerrrrrfect for the office (perfect for me anyway)
2. The fabulous blues on this dress let me accessorise my outfit with another gorgeous present I received for my 24th birthday.
3. When the sunlight reflects off the fabric, it looks subtly metallic even though it's not.
4. My necklace blends so well into the dress that it it goes from a very statement type of necklace into something a little less so.

After though - a fifth : the dress has pockets!!!!!!! WIN!

Unfortunately with all things that we love, there are things that we don't necessarily like either...

like the true length of this dress. At a fabulous height of 165cm, I am far too short to wear this as it is, and I had to hem off the end completely, which is such a shame really. Wish ASOS had made this in petite as well.

So how would you have worn the necklace? Or the dress?

Hope you like! XOXO

Swings and statement necklaces

Outfit #2 - I think this is probably more of what anyone would expect to wear with a statement necklace... I just had to do this post because it is a

  • Savvy outfit: total cost was $45 from ASOS both the top and maxi skirt were onsale
  • I am in love with the skirt and want to wear it as many ways and times as possible... (yes I am a firm believer in repeat clothing!)

Skirt - ASOS
Top - ASOS
Shoes - Siren
Necklace - PeepToe

I chose a playground for this outfit because... well I'm not sure. I think I liked the idea of including some juxtaposition and in my mind the skirt would work well on swings.

As you can see this necklace is different to the prior post (just goes to show how much I love these!), there really is no reason for this I just thought it would go with the outfit :)

I hope the statement necklace worked as well for you as it did for me in this post!

Dressing it up with a statement necklace

Hi fellow readers!

Here is part 1 of how I wear my statement necklaces - I make a point of not showing my necklace in the first 2 photos for you to get an idea of  how casual my outfit actually is.

I truly believe that gorgeous pieces of jewellery like this lovely PeepToe woven chain necklace in turquiose really dresses up an outfit and when worn with confidence, becomes that little more edgy. It turns an ordinary pair of trousers and t-shirts into something you'd be able to wear to a sunday lunch without looking drab.

Top - IndiC
Pants - ASOS
Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell
Necklace - PeepToe

can't emphasise how much I love statement jewellery - especially the PeepToe woven chain necklace ahhh!

I'll be back with more outfit posts with this necklace. Hope you like what you've seen so far!
